2018 Music at the Festival

Great music is one of the Festival’s hallmarks. Post-screening parties featuring live music by an array of artists, take place during the Festival at local restaurants and other venues starting at 10:30 PM. Post-screening parties are a great way to meet the filmmakers and discuss movies with fellow cinemaphiles, while supporting local live music.

Saturday, July 28th

Sarah Burrill Band at the Captain Kidd, 77 Water Street, Woods Hole

Sarah brings to her music and performance a depth and passion that is nothing short of contagious. Whether she is belting out a blues, caressing the melody of a delicate love song, encouraging social consciousness and change or singing about her pajamas, it is an experience that inspires courage, strength and hope. She does all of this while creating atmosphere of playfulness and spontaneity that is disarming and uniquely Sarah. It takes no time at all to understand she is here to have fun and brings her audience right along with her. 

Sunday, July 29th

Bert Jackson Quartet at the Landfall Restaurant, 9 Luscombe Ave., Woods Hole

The Bert Jackson Quartet mixes jazz, blues, pop and latin – drawing from Bert’s love of swing and blues, Paul Lesniak’s R&B roots, Roe Osborn’s lyrical, pulsing bass lines, and Kareem Sanjaghi’s rhythmic energy. The band plays old blues and jazz favorites, British Invasion, Bossa Nova classics as well as compositions by Bert and Roe. The guys have been performing concerts, in clubs and at events from Provincetown to Woods Hole for over six years together. Their album of mostly original compositions, Imaginary Journey, was released in 2013. A new album, Light of the Son, set for release in mid 2018.

Sparrow Blue at the 41-70 Restaurant, Water Street, Woods Hole

Acoustic roots songwriting duo Sparrow Blue (Katy Boc and Todd Nickerson) blend folk, country, bluegrass and old-time influences together with crafted songwriting to paint a musical picture of times gone by, hope, hard times and new beginnings.

4Eyes at the Landfall Restaurant, 9 Luscombe Ave., Woods Hole

4Eyes has been rocking the Cape and Islands with their eclectic salad of sound since 2003. Humberto Cordero, Jimmie Snider, Aaron Mayo and Andrew Fietek bring a certain fun calamity to anything they play, from tweaked classics to danceable originals. For any club, party or life-changing event, this extremely versatile band is bound to make spectacles of themselves. Ha, get it, spectacles? By appointment only.

The Paradise Rock Band at the Captain Kidd, 77 Water Street, Woods Hole

Born in Woods Hole in 1980. The Paradise Rock Band has been rocking the Cape for nearly 40 years with that Cape-style original music and classic rock hits. From rock ‘n’ roll, blues, funk and dub style reggae, the band carries on a tradition of quality music on Cape Cod.
