Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone of the Woods Hole Film Festival. With the help of our amazing volunteers, we are able to bring together filmmakers, screenwriters, actors, audiences and independent film enthusiasts from all walks of life for our films and events. The Festival is an exciting and memorable experience during the summer festival and the year-round series.

Interested in volunteering for one of the best film festivals in New England?

We’re looking for volunteers for the 33rd Annual Woods Hole Film Festival (Saturday, July 27 through Saturday, August 3, 2024), and for our year-round screenings and events. (See more details and information below.)

To become a volunteer register in our volunteer system. For the summer festival we ask that you commit to work a minimum of four shifts during the Festival and attend one of the scheduled volunteer orientation meetings. For the year-round series we as that you assist with screenings and events as needed.

Some of the volunteer positions take place prior to the Festival.  The list below represents the positions available at this time, however, check back often because the list will be updated throughout the year.

Requirements: All volunteers must be over 21, have your own transportation and housing, and must agree to abide by all Festival rules and code of conduct.

Volunteer Positions for 32nd Woods Hole Film Festival, Summer 2024

Venue Managers:  July 27 – August 3

Duties include:  Managing operations at assigned venue, including screenings, panel discussions.  Will coordinate with operations manager, venue assistants, filmmakers and patrons.

Pre-Festival – Distribute posters, flyers and information throughout the local area – May, June, July

Pre-Festival – Box Office Ticket and information sales – July 1st – 26, 2024

Festival Box Office Ticket and Merchandise Sales and Information  – July 27 – August 3

Duties include:  Selling tickets and merchandise daily throughout the Festival.  Must be friendly and enjoy working with the public.

Venue Operations – July 27th – August 3rd
Duties include:  Distributing and collecting ballots, scanning tickets and helping to provide information.

VOLUNTEER YEAR ROUND 

DUTIES INCLUDE assisting at venues and events for Dinner & A Movie, Best of the Fest and other special events.
