Disneynature is joining the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) to kick off the 20th Woods Hole Film Festival with a special celebration screening of the breathtaking film OCEANS on Saturday, July 30th at 7 p.m. at the Redfield Auditorium of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

Nearly three-quarters of the surface of the Earth is covered by water and OCEANS boldly chronicles the mysteries that lie beneath. Directors Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud dive deep into the very waters that sustain all of mankind—exploring the playful splendor and the harsh reality of the weird and wonderful creatures that live within. Narrated by IFAW Honorary Board member Pierce Brosnan and featuring spectacular never-before-seen imagery captured by the latest underwater technologies, OCEANS offers an unprecedented look beneath the sea in a powerful yet enchanting motion picture.
“This film is a beautiful portrait of our water world and the species that dwell there,” said Fred O’Regan, President and CEO, IFAW. “Some of these creatures are at a very precarious crossroads and we are eager to show the steps that can be taken to make sure the sanctity of their existence and habitat is protected. IFAW and Disney have a long-standing relationship and share a commitment to protecting and rescuing both marine life and land-based animals. We’re proud to be a presenting sponsor of the Woods Hole Film Festival as it celebrates its 20th year.”“These filmmakers have given us the pleasure of looking over their shoulders—of doing what I have dreamed of being able to do—to get in a school of fish, to be a dolphin, to be a whale—and swim along with them,” said Dr. Sylvia Earle, Explorer in Residence at the National Geographic Society. “This is the best I've ever seen. It takes me places I've wanted to go. This is beyond art. This captures the spirit, the very essence of the sea.”
