WORK-IN-PROGRESS SCREEN WRITING COMPETITION 2008

Harvard Square Script Writers in association with Yankee Classic Pictures and Woods Hole Film Festival, Inc. are proud to announce the seventh Work-In-Progress Screen Writing Competition.

All screenplays are "works-in-progress" until they are sold or produced.

There is a great interest in the 7th annual W-i-P Screen Writing Competition. The categories are:

Category 1. Feature Screenplay. The open category. Scripts between 75 and 120 pages. Depending on the number and variety of eligible scripts, this category may be split into various subcategories. Standard divisions are Drama and Comedy.

Category 2. Science Drama and Science Fiction. Stories which expand the audience knowledge of science or technology, point out social or cultural elements of science and technology, or further the recording of science history. Scripts between 55 and 120 pages. This is not a escapist horror or monster category. Examples of films in this category might be "Madame Curie," "Charley," "Solaris," or "Andromeda Strain."

Category 3. Short Film Script. Scripts of less than 30 pages which involve filming with live actors in dialogue situations.

Winners will be announced during the first week of July.
